Michael Philip Batt, born on February 6, 1949, is an English musician, singer-songwriter, arranger, record producer, director, and conductor. He has contributed significantly to the music industry through a diverse range of roles and projects. Batt created the novelty pop band The Wombles after recording the theme song for the BBC animated series of the same name. He also composed the song Bright Eyes for the 1978 animated film Watership Down. In addition to his work as a creator and composer, Batt has played a key role in talent development, notably promoting the early career of singer Katie Melua by signing her to his label, Dramatico.
