Mickie James: podcast appearances and interviews

Mickie Laree James, born on August 31, 1979, is an American professional wrestler and country singer. She is recognized as a Hall of Famer for her contributions to the sport. James began her wrestling career in 1999 as a valet on the independent circuit under the name Alexis Laree. She trained in several camps to enhance her wrestling skills before gaining national attention in 2002 with NWA: Total Nonstop Action. During her time at TNA, she was involved in storylines with a stable called The Gathering and was the only woman to participate in the promotion's Clockwork Orange House of Fun matches until 2025. James made her main roster debut in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) in 2005, where she was involved in a storyline with Trish Stratus. Her gimmick in that storyline portrayed her as Stratus' biggest fan turned obsessed stalker. She achieved significant success in WWE by winning the WWE Women's Championship five times, including at WrestleMania 22, and held the Divas Championship once after defeating Maryse Ouellet at Night of Champions in 2009. After her initial release from WWE in April 2010, she returned to TNA, becoming a three-time TNA Knockouts Champion. James later made appearances as a guest trainer and officially returned to WWE in 2016 before her release in 2021. She subsequently competed in Impact Wrestling, winning her fourth and fifth Knockouts Championships, and has accumulated eleven women's world championships between WWE and Impact.
