Michelle Simmons: podcast appearances and interviews

Michelle Yvonne Simmons, born on 14 July 1967, is an Australian quantum physicist recognized for her foundational contributions to atomic electronics. She is the general manager for Central Europe at Silicon Quantum Computing, where she serves as the CEO and Founder. Simmons is also the founding director of the Australian Research Council's Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation & Communication Technology. As of 2023, she holds the position of Scientia Professor of Quantum Physics in the Faculty of Science at the University of New South Wales. Her career includes being a two-time Australian Research Council Federation Fellow and an Australian Research Council Laureate Fellow. In January 2018, Simmons was named Australian of the Year in recognition of her work and dedication to quantum information science. She was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in June 2019, a distinction awarded for her distinguished service to science education, leadership in quantum and atomic electronics, and her role as a role model.
