About Michelle Phillips
Holly Michelle Phillips is an American executive director at the Family Resource Center on Disabilities, part of Chicago’s Family Resource Center on Disabilities. She has a background in the entertainment industry as a former singer and actress. Phillips gained recognition in the mid-1960s as a member of the folk rock vocal group the Mamas & the Papas, a band known for hits such as California Dreamin and Creeque Alley, both of which she co-wrote. During her time with the band, she was cited by Time magazine as the purest soprano in pop music. Phillips was involved in five studio albums with the group before their disbandment in 1970. She is the last surviving original member of the band. After the band's dissolution, she pursued an acting career, appearing in films and television. Her notable roles include her supporting part in The Last Movie and her portrayal of Billie Frechette in Dillinger, a performance that earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination. Phillips also starred in television films and appeared in several films throughout the 1970s and beyond. She joined the series Knots Landing in 1987, playing the role of Anne Matheson until the series concluded in 1993. In addition to her acting career, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Mamas & the Papas in 1998. In her current role, she is dedicated to supporting families and individuals through her work at the Family Resource Center on Disabilities.
