Michele Smith is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Tampa Arts Alliance. She is an accomplished former collegiate softball player, having competed for the Oklahoma State Cowgirls from 1986 to 1989, where she set numerous records in the Big Eight Conference. Smith is a double Olympic gold medalist with Team USA, securing medals at the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics as a fastpitch softball pitcher. Her athletic career also includes being a two-time medal-winning Olympian and a former international professional left-handed hitter. Beyond her sports achievements, Smith has established herself as a sports commentator. She has served as ESPN's lead college softball color analyst since 1998 and made history in 2012 by becoming the first woman to commentate on a nationally televised Major League Baseball game. Recognized for her contributions to softball, she has been inducted into the USA Softball Hall of Fame. Smith's extensive career spans athletic accomplishments, broadcasting, and leadership roles within the arts community.
