Michael Dwayne Vick is an American football coach and former professional quarterback who is the head coach at Norfolk State. He played in the National Football League for 13 seasons and is ranked second in quarterback rushing yards, a statistic he led at the time of his retirement. Vick played college football at Virginia Tech, where he received the Archie Griffin Award and the Big East Offensive Player of the Year in 1999. He was selected first overall by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2001 NFL draft. During his tenure with the Falcons, he was named to three Pro Bowls and led the team to two playoff runs, one division title, and an NFC Championship Game appearance. Vick's NFL career was interrupted in 2007 when he pleaded guilty to involvement in a dog fighting ring, resulting in 21 months of federal imprisonment. His arrest and conviction garnered significant public attention and notoriety that persisted throughout his career. Following his release, Vick signed with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009, where he experienced his most productive season and led the team to a division title in 2010. This achievement earned him the Comeback Player of the Year award and a fourth Pro Bowl selection. In his final seasons, he was a backup player with the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers.
