Merritt K, formerly known as Merritt Kopas, is a Canadian writer, editor, and video game designer. She is recognized for her games LIM, HUGPUNX, and Consensual Torture Simulator. Her work often explores the capacity of digital games to convey care relationships, aiming to either provide a sense of care to players or to foster caring for others. Much of her early work is no longer available, as she has described those pieces as feeling personal in a way that she was uncomfortable with, and she noted that after the Gamergate controversy, being personal online became a more dangerous prospect for many.
