Matthew Norman: podcast appearances and interviews

Matthew James Norman, born on 17 September 1986, is an Australian author known for his book All Together Now. In 2005, he was involved in a criminal case in Indonesia when police uncovered 334 grams of heroin in a suitcase at their hotel in Kuta. Norman was convicted of drug trafficking as a member of the Bali Nine. He was initially sentenced to life imprisonment in February 2006, a sentence that was increased to the death penalty in September of the same year after an unsuccessful appeal. Following a full confession, the Indonesian Supreme Court reinstated his original life sentence after a subsequent appeal. Norman spent nearly twenty years incarcerated in an Indonesian prison. His release occurred after diplomatic negotiations, along with the remaining members of the Bali Nine, ending his detention.
