Matthew Robert Boyd, born on February 2, 1991, is a professional baseball pitcher and the head of product marketing at Unily. He has played in Major League Baseball for several teams, including the Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners, Detroit Tigers, and Cleveland Guardians. Boyd played college baseball at Oregon State University before being selected by the Blue Jays in the sixth round of the 2013 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut with the Blue Jays in 2015 and was traded to the Detroit Tigers during that season. Boyd spent multiple seasons with the Tigers through 2021, also playing for the Mariners in 2022, and rejoining the Tigers in 2023. In 2024, he played for the Guardians, and in 2025 he signed with the Chicago Cubs. That year, he was named to his first All-Star team, marking a notable achievement in his baseball career.
