Matthew Blake Simon, born on 22 January 1986, is an Australian former soccer player known for his impact as a striker. He is recognized for his significant contributions to the Central Coast Mariners, a club he played for multiple times during his career. Simon attended St Edward's College in East Gosford, where his interest in soccer was cultivated. He began his senior career with Central Coast Lightning before joining the Central Coast Mariners in 2006. In 2012, he signed with Chunnam Dragons in the K-League but faced limited opportunities due to persistent injuries. He rejoined the Mariners in 2013, then transferred to Sydney FC after being released in 2015, and again returned to the Mariners in 2018. Simon holds the record as the Mariners' all-time leading goal scorer and has won the club’s Golden Boot seven times. He also holds the record for most substitute appearances in Australian league history and scored the latest goal in an A-League regular season match. Internationally, Simon made two appearances for the Australia national team and represented Australia U23 during the 2008 Summer Olympics.
