Matthew Thomas Ryan, born May 17, 1985, is an American football executive and former player who is currently serving as the president of football operations for the Atlanta Falcons of the National Football League. As a former quarterback, Ryan played for 15 seasons, primarily with the Falcons, and is recognized among the league’s top quarterbacks in pass attempts, pass completions, passing yards, and passing touchdowns. He played college football at Boston College, earning the Manning and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Awards in 2007, before being selected third overall by the Falcons in the 2008 NFL draft. During his playing career, Ryan made a significant impact early on by leading the Falcons to the playoffs in his rookie season, earning the Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
