Matt Freeman: podcast appearances and interviews

Matt Freeman, also known as Matt McCall, was born on April 23, 1966. He is an American musician best known as the bassist of the punk rock band Rancid. Freeman formed several bands with guitarist and vocalist Tim Armstrong in the late 1980s and early 1990s, including the ska-punk band Operation Ivy. He and Armstrong later formed Rancid with drummer Brett Reed. The band’s success contributed to a revival of mainstream interest in punk music, and they have released ten albums since their formation. In addition to his work with Rancid, Freeman has several side projects, including Devil’s Brigade, where he sings lead vocals and plays bass. His playing style features aggressive walking lines and fills, often performed on a Fender Precision Bass. Outside of his music career, Freeman is affiliated with New City Church and is currently the Charlotte FC Manager for Premium Sales.
