Matt Barrie: podcast appearances and interviews

Matt Barrie is a sportscaster for ESPN's SportsCenter, a role he assumed in March 2013. In addition to his primary duties, he hosts the pregame and halftime shows for ESPN College Football Thursday Primetime alongside analysts Joey Galloway and Jesse Palmer. He also hosts ESPN College Football Final, a Saturday night wrap-up show with analysts Galloway and E. J. Manuel. Barrie contributes as a golf commentator for ESPN’s coverage of TGL, The Masters, and the PGA Championship.

Before joining ESPN, Barrie reported on high school sports for Dallas/Fort Worth's NBC-owned station KXAS-TV and covered sports for CBS affiliate WLTX and sports talk station WCOS in Columbia, South Carolina. Earlier in his career, he worked as a general reporter for NBC affiliate WJFW-TV in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. During his tenure there, he covered regional topics, including a notable remote interview with then-Governor of Wisconsin Scott McCallum in 2002, which resulted in the governor making an apology after an on-air outburst. Barrie’s diverse broadcasting background highlights his experience across multiple levels of sports journalism.
