Mary Ann Sieghart: podcast appearances and interviews

Mary Ann Corinna Howard Sieghart, born on August 6, 1961, is an English author, journalist, consultant, and radio presenter. She has served as an assistant editor at The Times, where she contributed columns on politics, social affairs, and general life topics. Additionally, she wrote a weekly political column for The Independent. Her notable publication is the best-selling book titled The Authority Gap: Why Women Are Still Taken Less Seriously Than Men, and What We Can Do About It, released in July 2021. She now operates The Authority Gap Consultancy, which aims to help organizations address and close their authority gaps.

Sieghart has presented on BBC Radio 4, including programs such as Start the Week, Fallout, Analysis, Profile, One to One, and Beyond Westminster. Her expertise and insights have also been shared through various documentaries. Academically, she has held positions as a visiting professor at King's College London and has been involved with Nuffield College, Oxford, and Oriel College, Oxford, as an associate member and senior academic visitor respectively. Her research during her appointment at Oxford focused on The Authority Gap.

She served as chair of the Social Market Foundation, an independent think tank, from 2010 to 2020, and has participated in several governance roles including non-executive director positions with the Guardian Media Group and Pantheon International, a FTSE 250 investment trust. Sieghart has also been a trustee of the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and the Kennedy Memorial Trust. In 2022, she was the Chair of Judges for the Women's Prize for Fiction. Her contributions to gender equality and public discourse have been recognized with her inclusion among the Female FTSE 100 Women to Watch in 2018.
