Marlene Laruelle: podcast appearances and interviews

Marlène Laruelle is a professor affiliated with Luiss University. She is a French historian, sociologist, and political scientist who specializes in Eurasia and Europe. Laruelle holds the position of Research Professor and is the Director of the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at George Washington University. She also serves as a co-director of PONARS, a program focused on research and security in Eurasia, as well as the Director of GW's Central Asia Program and Illiberalism Studies Program. Laruelle earned her Ph.D. in history from the National Institute of Oriental Languages and Cultures and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in political science at Sciences Po in Paris. Additionally, she is a Senior Associate Scholar at the Institut français des relations internationales. Her research primarily concentrates on post-Soviet political, social, and cultural developments, with particular attention to ideologies and nationalism. She is the daughter of the French philosopher François Laruelle.
