Mark Robson (4 December 1913 – 20 June 1978) was a Canadian-American film director, producer, and editor. He began his career in Hollywood as a film editor before expanding into directing and producing. Over a span of 45 years, Robson directed 34 films, including notable titles such as Champion, Bright Victory, The Bridges at Toko-Ri, Peyton Place, The Inn of the Sixth Happiness, Von Ryan's Express, Valley of the Dolls, and Earthquake. His work earned him two Academy Award nominations for Best Director for Peyton Place and The Inn of the Sixth Happiness, and four nominations for the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directing in Feature Films. Two of his films received nominations for the Cannes Film Festival's Palme d'Or. In recognition of his contributions to the motion picture industry, Robson was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960.
