Mark McKinnon: podcast appearances and interviews

Mark David McKinnon, born on May 5, 1955, is an American political advisor, reform advocate, media columnist, and television producer. He has served as the chief media advisor to five successful presidential primary and general election campaigns. McKinnon is a co-founder of No Labels, an organization focused on bipartisanship and political problem solving. He served as vice chairman of Public Strategies, Inc., which was acquired by Hill & Knowlton Strategies, and was president of Maverick Media. McKinnon has been involved in television production as the co-creator, co-executive producer, and co-host of Showtime's The Circus: Inside the Greatest Political Show on Earth. He has also provided consultation for HBO’s The Newsroom and Netflix’s House of Cards. As a media columnist, he contributed to The Daily Beast and The Daily Telegraph. Throughout his career, McKinnon has worked with a variety of causes, companies, and political figures including George W. Bush, John McCain, Ann Richards, Charlie Wilson, and Bono. He has served on the boards of multiple organizations aimed at reforming the influence of money in politics, including Americans Elect and Mayday PAC, which he launched with Harvard Professor Larry Lessig and other notable figures to promote ethics reform in Congress. McKinnon has also been involved in campaigns supporting marriage equality, serving as co-chair of Southerners for the Freedom to Marry. Currently, he serves on the boards of Take Back Our Republic and the Austin Film Society and is a member of the George Foster Peabody Awards board of jurors and the Advisory Council of Represent.Us.
