Mark Ian Humphries, born on 4 October 1965 in Highley, Shropshire, is a former English cricketer who played as a left-handed batsman and wicket-keeper. His cricket career with Staffordshire began in 1990 and continued until 2003, during which he participated in 115 Minor Counties Championship matches and 41 MCCA Knockout Trophy games. Humphries holds the record for the most consecutive appearances in the Minor Counties Championship for Staffordshire, with 114 straight matches. He made his List A debut in 1990 against Northamptonshire in the NatWest Trophy and played a total of 18 List A matches for Staffordshire, with his last appearance coming against Surrey in 2003. In these matches, he scored 183 runs at an average of 18.30, with a high score of 41 not out. As a wicket-keeper, Humphries secured 18 catches and made one stumping. Additionally, he represented the Minor Counties cricket team in eight List A matches from 1992 to 1995, scoring 124 runs at an average of 20.66 and taking six catches and one stumping. He made his only first-class appearance in 1994 against the touring South Africans, where he did not bat in the first innings, was run out for a duck in the second, and took three catches in the match. Humphries’s brother, David, also played first-class cricket for Leicestershire and Worcestershire.
