Mark Jerrold Henry, born June 12, 1971, is an American athlete and retired professional wrestler. His career spans powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, strongman competitions, and professional wrestling. Henry competed as a two-time Olympian in 1992 and 1996 and earned medals at the 1995 Pan American Games, securing gold, silver, and bronze. As a powerlifter, he became the WDFPF World Champion in 1995 and was a two-time U.S. National Champion in 1995 and 1997. He held an American record in the deadlift and continues to hold the WDFPF world records in the squat, deadlift, and total. In weightlifting, Henry was a three-time U.S. National Champion and won the American Open in 1992. He also claimed titles at the U.S. Olympic Festival in 1993 and 1994 and was a NACAC champion in 1996. Additionally, he held all three Senior US American weightlifting records from 1993 to 1997. In strongman competitions, Henry won the inaugural Arnold Strongman Classic in 2002. His professional wrestling career began with the World Wrestling Federation in 1996, where he became a one-time WWF European Champion and a two-time world champion, holding the ECW Championship in 2008 and WWE's World Heavyweight Championship in 2011. Notably, he was only the fourth black world champion in WWE history. In 2018, Henry was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. He is affiliated with the Fellowship Bible Church.
