Mark Hammond: podcast appearances and interviews

Admiral Mark David Hammond is a senior officer in the Royal Australian Navy. He joined the navy as an electronics technician in 1986 and later became an officer after graduating from the Australian Defence Force Academy in 1990. Much of Hammond's career has been focused on submarine service; he has served on operations in the Indo-Pacific region and commanded the Collins-class submarine HMAS Farncomb. He has held key leadership positions, including Deputy Chief of Navy from 2018 to 2020 and Commander Australian Fleet from November 2020 to June 2022. Hammond was appointed Chief of Navy in July 2022 and served in that role until July 2026. On 9 July 2026, he assumed the position of Chief of the Defence Force, a role in which he continues to serve.
