Mark David Hall is a scholar specializing in religion and politics in America. He is a professor at Regent University's Robertson School of Government and a Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Religion, Culture & Democracy, an initiative of the First Liberty Institute. He also holds positions as Distinguished Scholar of Christianity & Public Life at George Fox University and as a Senior Fellow at both Emory University’s Center for the Study of Law and Religion and Baylor University’s Institute for Studies of Religion. In the academic year 2022-2023, Hall served as a Garwood Visiting Fellow at Princeton University’s James Madison Program and as a Visiting Scholar at the Mercatus Center. Hall has authored several books on religion and politics in the United States, with a focus on religion during the American founding era. His most recent publication, "Who’s Afraid of Christian Nationalism? Why Christian Nationalism is Not an Existential Threat to America or the Christian Church," was published in April 2024.
