Mark Burnett: podcast appearances and interviews

James Mark Burnett, born on 17 July 1960, is a British-American television producer recognized for creating The Apprentice and producing popular shows such as Survivor, Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?, Shark Tank, and The Voice. Over his career, he has produced more than 4000 hours of television programming that have aired on over 15 major networks and in more than 70 countries. Burnett founded his first production company, Mark Burnett Productions, in 1995, focusing on reality television. In 2009, he established Lightworkers Media with Roma Downey, a company dedicated to Christian media. He served as president of United Artists Media Group from 2014 to 2018 and was chairman of MGM Worldwide Television Group from 2018 to 2022. Recognized with numerous awards, Burnett has received ten Primetime Emmy Awards and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. As of December 2024, President-elect Donald Trump announced plans to appoint Burnett as the United States Special Envoy to the United Kingdom.
