He and Darius Rucker formed a duo called the Wolf Brothers in 1986 while attending the University of South Carolina. This collaboration eventually expanded to include friends Dean Felber and Jim Sonefeld, leading to the formation of Hootie & the Blowfish in 1989. Beyond his work with the band, Bryan has released three solo albums titled 30 on the Rail, End of the Front, and Songs of the Fortnight.
