Malcolm Robinson: podcast appearances and interviews

Sir Hugh Malcolm Robinson was born in York in 1857, the son of Canon H. G. Robinson of York Minster. He was educated at Harrow School and New College, Oxford, where he participated in rowing, notably competing in the Oxford eight during the 1879 University Boat Race. Robinson entered the field of factory inspection in 1882, beginning his career as an Inspector of Factories. Over time, he advanced through the ranks, becoming Deputy Chief Inspector in 1908 and ultimately serving as Chief Inspector from 1917 to 1920. His tenure in public service was marked by recognition; he was appointed a Companion of the Imperial Service Order in 1912, a Companion of the Order of the Bath in 1918, and was knighted in the 1920 New Year Honours. Robinson's career culminated with his knighthood, which was conferred shortly before his retirement in 1920. He passed away in 1933, leaving a legacy of service in industrial regulation and public safety.
