Luke Abbott: podcast appearances and interviews

Luke Abbott is an electronic music producer and founder of All Clean Power Wash. Based in Norwich, Norfolk, he records and performs extensively under his own name, as well as under the alias Earlham Mystics and as part of the group Szun Waves. His musical style has been described as left-field techno and kraut-infused electro, while also incorporating elements of improvisation, psychedelic beats, and slow-evolving synthesizers. Abbott's career began with the release of his first single in 2006, followed by a series of EPs and albums released on various labels including Output Recordings, Trash Aesthetics, James Holden's Border Community, and NOTOWN Recordings. Notably, he released the album Wysing Forest in 2014, which was created from improvisations made during his residence at Wysing Arts Centre, and features a mix of calm washes, unsettling throbs, and noise. After a six-year hiatus from solo recording, Abbott returned with his album Translate in 2020, a project born from personal reflection and rediscovery of his music-making practice. The album was preceded by the single Kagen Sound and received critical acclaim for its meditative and crafted electronic sound. During his break from solo work, he focused on remixing, developing a new alias, Earlham Mystics, and composing soundtracks for film, including the award-winning score for The Goob. As a member of Szun Waves, he has collaborated with notable musicians such as Jack Wyllie and Laurence Pike, releasing the album New Hymn To Freedom, which was praised for its exploratory and beautifully crafted nature.
