Liz Shuler: podcast appearances and interviews

Elizabeth Liz H. Shuler, born in 1970, is an American labor activist serving as the president of the AFL-CIO. She is the first woman to hold this position in the history of the federation. Shuler previously served as the federation's secretary-treasurer, a role in which she was also a trailblazer as the first woman and, as of 2009, the youngest person to occupy that office. Her election as president marked a significant milestone as she became the highest-ranking woman in the AFL-CIO's history. During her tenure, from her election until the retirement of Arlene Holt Baker in 2013, women held two of the three officer positions within the federation for the first time. Her leadership reflects breaking gender barriers in the labor movement and continuing her active role in advocating for workers' rights.
