Liam Lawson: podcast appearances and interviews

Liam Jared Lawson, born on 11 February 2002, is a New Zealand racing driver competing in Formula One for Racing Bulls. He was born in Hastings and raised in Pukekohe. Lawson began competitive kart racing at the age of six and was mentored by three-time New Zealand Grand Prix winner Ken Smith. He advanced to junior formulae in 2015, winning his first title in the New Zealand Formula Ford Championship as a privateer. He finished as runner-up in the Australian F4 in 2017, the ADAC F4 in 2018, and the Euroformula Open in 2019. In 2019, he won the Toyota Racing Series with M2. Lawson later competed in FIA Formula 3 in 2020 and FIA Formula 2 in 2021, where he finished third with Carlin. He also participated in the 2021 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters for Red Bull AF Corse, finishing as runner-up to Maximilian Götz, with the season ending controversially. In 2023, he competed in the Super Formula Championship, finishing as runner-up to Ritomo Miyata with Mugen. Lawson has been a member of the Red Bull Junior Team since 2019 and served as a reserve driver for Red Bull and AlphaTauri from 2022 to 2024. He made his Formula One debut at the 2023 Dutch Grand Prix, replacing injured Daniel Ricciardo at AlphaTauri and earning his first points in Singapore. In 2024, he replaced Ricciardo full-time at Racing Bulls from the United States Grand Prix. Lawson was promoted to a full-time driver for Red Bull in 2025 but was soon demoted after the second round. He remains contracted with Racing Bulls until at least the end of the 2026 season.
