Lex Gillette: podcast appearances and interviews

Elexis LaVelle Gillette, known as Lex Gillette, is a blind Paralympic athlete from Raleigh, North Carolina. He competes in T11 and F11 track and field events for the United States. Gillette has participated in multiple Summer Paralympics, securing silver medals in the men's long jump F11 event in 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020. In addition to his long jump success, he has competed in events such as the men’s triple jump and sprinting races. Gillette's achievements extend beyond the Paralympics; he won the gold medal in the men's long jump T11 at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships in Dubai with a jump of 6.45 meters, marking his fourth world championship title. He also secured gold in the men’s long jump F11 at the 2013 IPC Athletics World Championships in Lyon and earned a silver medal in the triple jump at the same event. As part of the United States relay team, he contributed to a silver medal and set a new American record in the 4×100 meter relay. Notably, Gillette broke his own long jump world record for F11 classified athletes with a leap of 6.77 meters on April 23, 2015, at a high-performance event at the Chula Vista Olympic Training Center. His career is distinguished by consistent podium finishes and record-breaking performances in para-athletics.
