Kerry Ellis: podcast appearances and interviews

Kerry Jane Ellis, born on May 6, 1979, is an English actress and singer known for her extensive work in musical theatre. Raised in Suffolk, she began performing at an early age and trained at Laine Theatre Arts starting at age 16. Her professional stage debut occurred in 1998, and she made her West End debut in 2001 in the revival of My Fair Lady as an understudy for Eliza Doolittle. In 2002, Ellis originated the role of Meat in the London cast of We Will Rock You and has since played lead roles in several major musicals, including Les Misérables, Wicked both in the West End and on Broadway, Oliver! and Cats. She has also appeared in national tours and concert productions of musicals such as Miss Saigon, Chess, The War of the Worlds, RENT, and Anything Goes. Recognized as the First Lady of West End musicals, she has received multiple awards and nominations for her performances and has also worked in film and television. Her collaboration with Queen guitarist Brian May since 2002 has led to a successful solo music career. Ellis has released four studio albums, including Anthems which reached number 15 on the UK Albums Chart, as well as an extended play and a live album. She has performed worldwide in concerts and headlined solo tours. Beyond her musical career, Ellis is involved in charity work with the Born Free Foundation and serves as a patron for several arts organizations. In 2019, she was awarded an honorary fellowship from the University of Suffolk.
