Katherine Grainger: podcast appearances and interviews

Katherine Jane Grainger, Baroness Grainger, is a Scottish academic and former athlete born on 12 November 1975. She has achieved significant success in rowing, securing four Olympic silver medals and one gold medal, as well as earning six World Championship titles for Great Britain. Grainger's Olympic career began with a silver medal at the Sydney Games in 2000 in the women's quadruple sculls. She continued her success with silver medals in the coxless pairs at Athens in 2004 and again in the quadruple sculls at Beijing in 2008. At the London Olympics in 2012, Grainger, alongside Anna Watkins, broke the Olympic record in the double sculls before winning the gold medal. She added a silver medal to her collection at the Rio Games in 2016 with Victoria Thornley after taking a two-year break from sport. Over her career, Grainger won eight medals at the World Championships between 1997 and 2011. In addition to her athletic achievements, she has served as Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University from 2015 to 2020 and is currently the Chancellor of the University of Glasgow.
