Julian Alexander Kitchener-Fellowes, Baron Fellowes of West Stafford, born on 17 August 1949, is an English actor, novelist, writer, producer, film director, and Conservative peer. He has received several prestigious awards, including an Academy Award and two Emmy Awards, along with multiple nominations for BAFTA Awards, a Golden Globe, Olivier Awards, and a Tony Award. Fellowes is best known for winning the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the film Gosford Park in 2001. He gained widespread recognition as the creator, writer, and executive producer of the television series Downton Abbey, which aired from 2010 to 2015, and the HBO series The Gilded Age, which began in 2022. In addition to his work in television and film, Fellowes has authored books for stage musicals, including Mary Poppins in 2004 and School of Rock in 2015.
