Joyce Maynard: podcast appearances and interviews

Joyce Maynard is an American novelist and journalist born on November 5, 1953. She began her career in journalism during the 1970s, contributing to publications such as Seventeen magazine and The New York Times. In the 1980s, her work appeared in Mademoiselle and Harrowsmith magazines. Her debut novel, Baby Love, was published in 1981, marking her entry into fiction writing. Her second novel, To Die For, published in 1992, drew inspiration from the Pamela Smart murder case and was later adapted into a film directed by Gus Van Sant. Maynard gained notable media attention in 1998 with the release of her memoir At Home in the World, which details her relationship with J. D. Salinger. Throughout her career, she has published novels across various literary genres including fiction, young adult fiction, and true crime. Her sixth novel, Labor Day, was adapted into a film in 2013 directed by Jason Reitman.
