Josh Newton

Josh Newton, born June 8, 1973, is an American musician recognized for his extensive involvement in the rock music scene. He has played as a bassist for bands such as Every Time I Die, From Autumn To Ashes, and The Damned Things, and is known for his role as the singer and guitarist of The Great Fire of Sixteen Sixty Six. Newton's early career included a tour with Unsane as a rhythm guitarist in 1994. In August 2004, he joined From Autumn To Ashes as their bassist following the departure of their original bassist, Mike Pilato. After leaving From Autumn To Ashes in 2007, Newton was quickly brought into Every Time I Die for a tour with Underoath. He was later announced as the bassist for The Damned Things, a band featuring members of Fall Out Boy and Anthrax. Newton has also performed as a fill-in bassist for Danish rockers Volbeat during their 2011 shows when their bassist was unable to tour. He has worked on other musical projects including With Knives, a duo with Joe Trohman of The Damned Things, releasing an EP and touring in the United States. Additionally, Newton has been involved in technical roles within the music industry, serving as a guitar technician for Joe Trohman and Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy, and as a guitar tech for Kings of Leon. He has also filled in for Trohman on guitar during Fall Out Boy performances in the UK.
