Jose Medina: podcast appearances and interviews

Jose Medina is an American educator and politician born on March 29, 1953. He has served as a supervisor for Riverside County and is affiliated with the Democratic Party. Medina's career includes a term in the California State Assembly representing the 61st Assembly District, which covers parts of northwestern Riverside County including Riverside, Moreno Valley, Perris, and Mead Valley. During his time in the Assembly, Medina served as Chair of the Higher Education Committee and was a member of both the California Latino Legislative Caucus and the California Legislative Jewish Caucus. Before his election to the Assembly in 2012, he worked as a teacher at Riverside Poly High School and served as a trustee of the Riverside Community College District. In 2018, Medina facilitated the allocation of 9.7 million dollars in state funds through the 2019 California State Budget, signed by then-Governor Jerry Brown, to support the development of the Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art, Culture and Industry of the Riverside Art Museum in Riverside. This center aims to be the permanent home for Cheech Marin's collection of Chicano art, which is recognized as the most prominent of its kind in the United States.
