Jon Klassen: podcast appearances and interviews

Jon Klassen is a Canadian writer and illustrator of children's books, as well as an animator. He gained prominence with his 2011 picture book I Want My Hat Back, which he both wrote and illustrated. This book was a commercial success, remaining on the New York Times Best Seller list for over 40 weeks and being translated into 22 languages by April 2014, with more than one million copies sold worldwide. Klassen continued this success with his 2012 picture book This Is Not My Hat, which received critical acclaim by winning the Caldecott Medal and the Kate Greenaway Medal. Both books were recommended for children aged five and older. The series of books, known as the Hat Trilogy, was completed with the publication of We Found a Hat in 2016. In addition to his work in children's literature, Klassen is also an animator. His contributions to the field were recognized with the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award in 2026, further establishing his reputation as a significant figure in children's publishing.
