Johnny Harris: podcast appearances and interviews

Johnny Harris is an English actor, screenwriter, producer, and director. His notable performances include roles in the feature film London to Brighton, which was recognized as one of the '100 Greatest British Films of All Time' by Time Out. Harris received praise from director Shane Meadows for his powerful performance in the film. Meadows also cast him in the television series This Is England '86, where Harris portrayed Mick Jenkins, the abusive father of Lol. His portrayal earned him nominations for both the BAFTA TV Award and the Royal Television Society Award. Harris continued to work with Meadows, appearing in subsequent series including This Is England '88 and This Is England '90. He has also starred in a variety of other television and film projects such as The Salisbury Poisonings, Snow White and the Huntsman, Fortitude, and Medici. Harris played the role of Magwitch in the adaptation of Great Expectations, a joint production by BBC, FX Network, and Disney, which was executive-produced by Tom Hardy and Sir Ridley Scott. He co-starred alongside Vicky McClure in the ITV series Without Sin. In 2017, Harris expanded his career into screenwriting with the film Jawbone, for which he also starred and co-produced. In 2024, he appeared as Osip Glebnikov in the Showtime/Paramount adaptation of Amor Towles’ novel A Gentleman in Moscow starring Ewan McGregor. Harris is regarded as one of Britain's finest actors.
