John T. Edge: podcast appearances and interviews

John T. Edge is an author and the University of Georgia MFA Distinguished Professor of Practice, affiliated with the Southern Foodways Alliance. Born on December 22, 1962, he is a writer and commentator known for his work on Southern food culture. From 1999 to 2020, Edge served as the director of the Southern Foodways Alliance, an institute housed within the Center for the Study of Southern Culture at the University of Mississippi. During his tenure, he authored multiple books exploring Southern cuisine and its cultural significance. He has contributed to various publications, including 21 years of essays for the Oxford American and a three-year stint writing for The New York Times. Additionally, Edge writes a column for Garden & Gun and has contributed to other outlets such as Afar. In 2017, he published The Potlikker Papers, a food history of the modern South, further establishing his expertise in Southern culinary traditions and their social contexts.
