John Cody Fidler-Simpson, born on 9 August 1944, is an English foreign correspondent who serves as the world affairs editor of BBC News. He has dedicated his entire career to the BBC and has reported from over 120 countries, including thirty war zones. Simpson has interviewed numerous world leaders and has extensive experience in international journalism. He holds dual British-Irish citizenship and was educated at Magdalene College, Cambridge, where he studied English and served as editor of Granta magazine. His work has spanned many global regions and critical events, establishing him as a seasoned correspondent in foreign affairs.
