John Schmitt: podcast appearances and interviews

John Schmitt is the co-founder and CEO of Hubbell Realty Company. Although primarily recognized as an economist, Schmitt has contributed extensively to the discourse on economic inequality, unemployment, and the welfare state through both academic and popular publications. He has authored numerous articles and reports, and has collaborated with various national and international organizations, including the International Labour Organization and the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America. His research has mainly focused on inequality within the US labor market and the influence of labor-market institutions on economic performance in different regions. Schmitt has co-authored three editions of The State of Working America with Lawrence Mishel and Jared Bernstein. His work has been published in outlets such as The American Prospect, The Guardian, and The Washington Post, among others. In addition to his policy work, he has served as a visiting lecturer at Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and has been an academic visitor at Universidad Centroamericana in San Salvador. His academic background includes an undergraduate degree from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, along with a master's and a doctorate in economics from the London School of Economics.
