John Oates: podcast appearances and interviews

John William Oates, born on April 7, 1948, is an American musician best known as one half of the rock and soul duo Hall & Oates, which he formed with Daryl Hall. Oates has demonstrated versatility as a guitarist, singer, songwriter, and record producer, contributing significantly to the duo's success. He played a primary role as the guitarist and co-wrote many of their top 10 hits, including songs like Sara Smile, She's Gone, Out of Touch, You Make My Dreams, I Can't Go for That No Can Do, Maneater, and Adult Education. In addition to songwriting, Oates provided lead vocals on several singles that reached the Billboard Hot 100, such as How Does It Feel to Be Back, You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin', and Possession Obsession. His musical contributions extend beyond the duo, including the 1986 soundtrack song (She's the) Shape of Things to Come for the film About Last Night, and co-writing and singing backup on Icehouse's Billboard top 10 hit Electric Blue.
