John Melton: podcast appearances and interviews

Sir John Melton, who died in 1640, was an English merchant, writer, and politician. In 1635, he was appointed Secretary to the Council of the North by King Charles I of England. Melton was also elected as a Member of Parliament for Newcastle-upon-Tyne in the year of his death. His connections to the Melton line of Aston, several members of which held the position of Lord Lucy, remain uncertain. Melton authored works including A Six-Folde Politician, published in 1609, and the satirical play Astrologaster in 1620. His writings often engaged with political and social issues of his time, reflecting his interests in governance and critique of astrology.
