John Hodgman: podcast appearances and interviews

John Kellogg Hodgman is an American author, actor, and humorist born on June 3, 1971. He is known for his satirical works, including the trilogy The Areas of My Expertise, More Information Than You Require, and That Is All. His writings often blend humor and satire; his published work has appeared in outlets such as One Story, The Paris Review, McSweeney's Quarterly Concern, Wired, and The New York Times Magazine. Hodgman has also contributed to Radio programs including This American Life, CBC Radio One, and Wiretap. His debut book, The Areas of My Expertise, published in 2005, is a satirical almanac that features minimal factual content. Subsequent books include More Information Than You Require, published in 2008, and That Is All, released in 2011. In 2017, he published Vacationland, a collection of stories about his life experiences in Western Massachusetts and coastal Maine, which was a finalist for the 2018 Thurber Prize for American Humor. His latest book, Medallion Status, was published in 2019. In addition to his written works, Hodgman gained popularity as a contributor to Comedy Central's The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and for his role in Apple's 'Get a Mac' advertising campaign, where he personified a PC opposing Justin Long's Mac. He has also spoken publicly, including as the headline speaker at the 2009 Radio and Television Correspondents' Association dinner in Washington, D.C.
