John De Lancie: podcast appearances and interviews

John Sherwood de Lancie, Jr. is an American actor born on March 20, 1948. He made his first television appearance in the series Captains and the Kings in 1976. Over the years, de Lancie has appeared in various television roles, including Eugene Bradford in Days of Our Lives during the 1980s and early 1990s, Frank Simmons in Stargate SG-1 from 2001 to 2002, and Donald Margolis in Breaking Bad between 2009 and 2010. He also portrayed Agent Allen Shapiro in Torchwood in 2011 and provided the voice of Discord in My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic from 2011 to 2019. His notable recurring role is as Q in the Star Trek franchise, beginning with Star Trek: The Next Generation in 1987 and continuing through various series, including the third season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds in 2025. Beyond his acting career, de Lancie has been an outspoken secular activist. He was a featured speaker at events such as the 2016 Reason Rally and CSICon 2019, engaging in discussions beyond his work in television and film.
