John Frederick Bond (17 December 1932 – 25 September 2012) was an English footballer and manager. During his playing career, he was active from 1950 until 1966, predominantly with West Ham United, where he made 444 appearances across all competitions and scored 37 goals. Bond was part of the West Ham team that won the Second Division in the 1957–58 season and the FA Cup in 1964. After his tenure at West Ham, he played for Torquay United until 1969. Transitioning into management, Bond led seven different Football League clubs. His managerial career includes guiding Norwich City to the 1975 Football League Cup Final and Manchester City to the 1981 FA Cup Final. Bond's contributions to football extended beyond his playing record, with his career spanning roles in both playing and management within English football. He is also recognized as the father of Kevin Bond, a former footballer and coach.
