Joel Turner: podcast appearances and interviews

Joel Turner, born on 3 March 1987, is an Australian beatboxer, singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, and record producer. He is best known for the Australian hit song 'These Kids' and is recognized for his distinctive beatboxing sounds, including the 'third voice,' cowbell, teeth beats, and bass guitar. Turner gained prominence as a beatboxer by winning the Beatbox Battle World Championship in 2005 and holding the title until 2009. His talent first drew national attention during auditions for the 2003 season of Australian Idol, where he showcased his beatboxing skills. Although he was praised, he was considered unsuitable for the competition but was voted 'Most Popular of the Unforgettables' and performed at the 2003 Idol Grand Final at the Sydney Opera House. Turner was subsequently signed and managed by Idol judge Mark Holden, alongside rappers the Modern Day Poets, a group which included Turner's older brother Tim Turner, known as DubLT, and their cousin Chris Turner. As of 2010, Turner had released two full-length albums and toured extensively. He has also appeared in several television commercials, including one for Drumstick Loaded ice cream.
