Joe Lopez is the host of the Texas Tech podcast 'Tortillas & Takes' and is affiliated with the Big Dad Energy Podcast. Born on August 28, 1950, he is an American musician known for his work as a Tejano vocalist and songwriter. Lopez co-founded the group Mazz in 1978 with his friend Jimmy González and served as its lead vocalist until 1998. After leaving Mazz, he pursued a solo career and formed a new group. In 2006, Lopez faced legal issues when he was convicted of sexually assaulting his niece, which resulted in a halt to his career until his release from incarceration in 2018.
