Joseph Adam Jonas, born on August 15, 1989, is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He gained prominence as a member of the pop rock band the Jonas Brothers, which included his brothers Kevin and Nick. The band released their debut studio album, It's About Time, through Columbia Records in 2006. Following their signing with Hollywood Records, they released their self-titled second studio album in 2007, which marked their breakthrough period. During this time, the group became well-known figures on the Disney Channel, appearing in the musical television film Camp Rock in 2008 and its sequel Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam in 2010. They also starred in two television series, Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream and Jonas, aired from 2008 to 2010 and from 2009 to 2010 respectively. The band's third studio album, A Little Bit Longer, released in 2008, continued their commercial success, with the lead single Burnin' Up reaching the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Their fourth album maintained popularity on the Billboard 200, though sales declined. After the band announced a hiatus, Jonas released a solo album, Fastlife, in 2011, which achieved moderate commercial success. Following the group's official separation due to creative differences, Jonas formed the funk-pop band DNCE in 2015, serving as the lead vocalist. DNCE's debut single Cake by the Ocean was a commercial hit, peaking at number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
