Jody Hamilton: podcast appearances and interviews

Joseph Hamilton, known as Jody Hamilton, was an American professional wrestler, promoter, and trainer. He was best known for his role as one half of the tag team The Assassins, where he was called Assassin #1. Hamilton teamed up with Tom Renesto in late 1961 to form the masked heel team and wrestled across the world for over a decade. After Renesto retired, Hamilton continued the team with other wrestlers, including Randy Colley and Hercules Hernandez, maintaining the Assassins' trademark gold and black masks. In addition to his wrestling career, Hamilton founded Deep South Wrestling in the late 1980s, a promotion through which he also wrestled until a back injury led to his retirement in 1988. Following the closure of Deep South Wrestling, he worked extensively for World Championship Wrestling, contributing to its booking team and serving as a trainer at WCW's Power Plant training facility. In 2005, Hamilton reopened Deep South Wrestling as an affiliate of World Wrestling Entertainment to train wrestlers signed to developmental contracts. The promotion suspended operations later that year after WWE ended its contract with DSW. Hamilton's career in professional wrestling spanned several decades and included significant roles as a performer, promoter, and trainer.
