Jim McDermott: podcast appearances and interviews

Jim McDermott, born December 28, 1936, is an American politician and psychiatrist. He served as the U.S. representative for Washington's 7th congressional district from 1989 to 2017. During his tenure, he represented areas including most of Seattle, Vashon Island, Tukwila, Burien, Shoreline, Lake Forest Park, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Woodway, and Edmonds. McDermott was a member of the Democratic Party and participated in key committees, including the House Ways and Means Committee and the House Ethics Committee, where he served as chairman and later as the ranking minority member. He was also a member of the House Progressive Caucus. On January 4, 2016, he announced that he would not seek re-election, concluding nearly three decades of service in Congress.
