Jenny Colgan, born on 14 September 1971 in Prestwick, Ayrshire, is a Scottish writer known for her work in both romantic comedy fiction and science fiction. She has authored stories within the Doctor Who franchise and writes under her own name as well as the pseudonyms Jane Beaton and J. T. Colgan. Colgan's novels have received recognition and awards, including the Romantic Novel of the Year in 2013 for Welcome to Rosie Hopkins' Sweetshop of Dreams. She also won the Romantic Novelists' Association award for Comedy Novel of the Year in 2018 for The Summer Seaside Kitchen.
